Convert an Asian size to a European size

This is the conversion that causes the most trouble, because it uses our own letters for something else. An Asian XL lands around a European L, sometimes an M depending on the brand.

Asian marketplaces often show a letter size without saying which standard it follows. The survival rule is simple: assume one notch of difference, and read the centimetre measurements whenever they are given.
