Convert a German size to a French size
Germany grades womenswear two points below France: a German 36 is a French 38. It is the same gap as with Italy, but in the other direction.
This is the most common confusion on European sites, because many of them display « EU » while meaning the German grid, whereas a French shopper reads their own.

The catch
When a site shows « EU » with no further detail, it is almost always the German grid. When in doubt, compare the measurements row rather than the number.
